First Visit
Your first appointment is an exciting time! Its a chance for you to learn about the treatments and services that can help give you the best smile possible. It all starts with the initial consultation.
You should plan to spend at least an hour at the first visit. That’s to ensure that no one has to rush, and that you get plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. Please bring your referral slip, any x-rays if applicable, and a list of all medications that you are currently taking. If your dentist or specialist has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
Because Dr. Griswold’s work is highly precise, and because no two mouths are alike, she believes in developing a personalized treatment plan for every patient. On your first visit, Dr. Griswold will meet with you personally to discuss your goals concerning your oral health. The interview will be followed by a thorough examination to gauge your present oral condition.
Based on the interview and examination, Dr. Griswold will develop a custom treatment plan which will best achieve your goals for long-term oral health. It’s important to us that you feel secure in your dental decisions, so Dr. Griswold will present your custom treatment plan with these objectives in mind:
- To identify your existing dental problems
- To explain the potential dangers of leaving those problems untreated
- To present your custom treatment plain in plain and simple terms
Often, Dr. Griswold might need additional information to determine the treatment plan. This would require photographs, impressions (molds) of the teeth, and bite records. These can be obtained at the first visit if time permits. If not, another appointment is scheduled to gather this information.
- IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
